The number of suicides has been on the decline since peaking at
\n35,000 per year in 2003, but has been increasing again in recent
\nyears. In particular, the suicide rate among young people has been
\non the rise, and efforts to prevent this are being strengthened. It is
\nsaid that suicide occurs when a person is torn between wanting to
\ncontinue living and not wanting to live anymore, and some kind of
\nimpulsiveness is activated. In such a state, the person’s mental field
\nof vision is narrowed, and they are unable to think of any other
\noptions, or even if they do think of an option, they do not think that
\nit will lead to the solution of the problem. At such times, if someone
\nhappens to call out to them, or if the person in question talks to
\nsomeone and is able to talk about their feelings or be exposed to a
